NGO, Others to Train 100 NYSC Members on Entrepreneurial Skills

An NGO, the Junior Achievement Nigeria (JAN), on Sunday in Lagos, said it would partner GB Foods and Parthian Partners to inspire and train 100 National Youth Service Corps members on entrepreneurial skills.

The JAN Executive Director,  Mr Foluso Gbadamosi in a ststement made available to the News Agency of Nigeria , said the skills would prepare  young people to succeed in a global economy.

Gbadamosi also added that the partnership was part of JAN’s vision with GBFoods Corporate Social Responsibility commitments.

“The programme is designed to prepare and equip 100 rigorously selected members of the NYSC with skills that will enable them to thrive in a global economy while transforming them to become conscientious global citizens.

“This year’s edition, which is the 22nd anniversary, marks the 22 years of partnership with Lagos Business School and it is the second time the programme will be held in hybrid mode.

“Annually, 100 graduates are taken through activities aimed at sharpening their entrepreneurial and work readiness skills,” he said.

Gbadamosi said Junior Achievement Nigeria would also hold the 2022 Venture in Management Programme (ViMP), in collaboration with Lagos Business School, Pan-Atlantic University.

The executive director said that the ViMP which would kick off on Monday, is a week-long programme at the  Lagos Business School.

“The programme also features special events such as an Alumni Mixer and Career Fair with leading professionals from the ViMP alumni community and other industry professionals.

According to Gbadamosi, ViMP is one of the ways JAN contributes to the attainment of United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.

He said JAN firmly believed that young people had the potential to transform their communities and bring about sustainable solutions that would impact on the world around them.

“ViMP is designed as a one-week intensive session to introduce all successful participants to the different facets of managing a business.

He said  it would also help in  making crucial business decisions and developing skills for general management in career and entrepreneurship.

“Our ultimate goal is to prepare NYSC members and recent graduates for the world of business as managers and entrepreneurs.

“I would like to appreciate our partners, Parthian Partners for sponsoring ViMP for the second time, GB Foods for coming on board to support programme implementation and Lagos Business School,” he said.
